2025 BrightBridge Scholarship Awards
BrightBridge Credit Union is awarding the following scholarships in 2025:
- The Lisa Lewis Goodman Community Spirit Award which recognizes the student who demonstrates exceptional dedication to serving their community, both within and beyond school. The receipient will receive $2,500.
- James A. Burley Jr. Scholarship Award, awarded to three students who excel academically, actively participate in extracurricular activities and provide exceptional essay responses. First place is $5,000; second place is $3,000; and third place is $2,000.
- Fourteen $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students based on their academic achievements in high school, dedication to extracurricular and community activities and their essay responses.
Who is eligible?
- Graduating seniors of public, private religious, or technical high schools located in our field of membership
- Students must be attending full time (at least 12 credits or the equivalent) in a certificate, associate's, or bachelor's program at an accredited college located in the United States
- Applicants do not need to be BrightBridge Credit Union members
When is the deadline?
- Interested students must submit the application below on or before February 28, 2025

Application Procedure & Checklist
Complete the online application in its entirety. Only online applications will be accepted.
Please collect the following before starting your application:
- Transcript of student grades
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, scout leader, religious leader, etc.
- Completed essay of 500 words or less: "Tell us what leadership means to you. Describe a time when you demonstrated leadership, and what lessons you learned from that experience." If the essay does not answer the question, it will not be considered.
What to do if the person writing your recommendation wants to submit it directly to BrightBridge:
- In the Letter of Recommendation field, upload a document that says: "Letter of Recommendation will be emailed"
- Direct your letter writer to email it to marketing@brightbridge.com. Please ask them to include your name and your school.
